An inspiring moment from the communities we serve.
As National Doctors Day concludes I want to give a special thanks to Melanie Comito for giving me the chance to live. I cannot thank Dr.Comito enough for everything she has done for not only me but for my family to make sure all of us were always in good health. Under a bad circumstance my family and I were introduced to one of the most amazing people I could have ever met in this world. She made such an impact on so many families at Hershey with her gift of treating children with cancer. Now I am so happy Dr.Comito gets to share her gift to another hospital in New York. They are so lucky to have such an amazing Doctor. Thank you all Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital doctors for giving me life. Thank you Dr.Comito for sharing your gift and becoming my doctor, my friend, and another motherly figure in my life. I will never be able to express in words how grateful I am of Dr.Comito and Milton S. Hershey Medical Center doctors. You will all always be family to me. Without this hospital I would have never got the chance to drive a car, graduate high school, attend Penn State, and stand for 46 hours to represent all the hard work the doctors put in day in and day out to ensure children overcome this terrible disease. Every person you encounter in life is placed there for a reason, so always be aware of who you come in contact. I am so glad I was given the opportunity to smile side by side with Dr.Comito for 11 years of my life so far and many more. – Brady Lucas
